Asset Hosting

Below is the updated asset hosting strategy for 2024 and beyond.

    • DX Top - for small image in Top Banner
    • DX Body - for image used in body of page (not offer banners, but the images that go into 50% column)
    • DX Logo - for the logo used in the XF (folder is not used because these logos have been hosted in /logos/partners/dx)
  • Sitemap
  • Solutions
  • Support
  • Training
  • External - Used for hosting images for third party platforms, such as HighSpot
  • International - Used for image assets that are referenced in international pages that either need to be retired or retranslated
  • Target - Used only for images needed for Target testing; known issue is that when Interactive Content component is used, depending on how images are coded, they may not create asset references, which could result in accidental deletion of images

There will be folders for the following generic elements as well:

  • Banners for generic banners only (all other banners will be moved to their respective site section)
  • Icons for existing icons (Within the W012 folder, there are subfolders for Purple and White)
  • Logos
    • AVEVA
    • Partners
      • DX  (we may move the partner logos for DX pages into the /products/dx-logo section)
      • Global Alliances (we may move the partner logos into the /about/partners/global-alliances section)
      • OEM (we may move the partner logos into the /about/partners/oem section)
  • Signatures

Need to decide if we need folders for these:

  • Interactive Content

Within each site section folder or site section subfolder, there will be subfolders for the following:

  • Each W code that is applicable within that site section (do not include a W code folder if there are no applicable assets within that section)
  • Other - this folder will host any images that do not have a W code

Deviations from the strategy above:

  • /perspectives/blog
    • Due to the high volume of blogs, host within the Year subfolder first, then host within the W code and Other subfolders within each year
  • /about/news/press-releases
    • To match the URL structure of the press releases, host within the Year subfolder first, then host within the W code and Other subfolders within each year

Example of an asset path:

Document Hosting Strategy

Each main site section will have a folder. Some will have site section subfolders

  • About
    • Careers
    • Investors
    • News
    • Partners
  • Academia
  • External - Used for hosted pdfs that are tied to external campaigns and are not linked from an AEM web page; there should be 0 references for assets in this folder
  • Governance
  • Info
    • Edge Resources
    • Product Renaming
  • International - Used for document assets that are referenced in international pages that either need to be retired or retranslated (exception: host documents for the Japanese brochure in that folder instead)
  • Legal
    • Compliance
    • Policies
    • Service Documents
  • Perspectives Proposed strategy - Need consensus to move Content Type subfolders under Perspectives
    • Articles
    • Blog
    • Brochures
    • Campaigns
    • Datasheets
    • eBook
    • Infographics
    • Reports
    • Solution Brief
    • Success Stories
    • White Papers
  • Products (use /brochures, /datasheets, /white-papers, etc. for AVEVA Core product collateral)
    • DX Brochures (DX products only)
    • DX Case Studies (DX products only)
    • DX Datasheets (DX products only)
    • DX Edition Comparisons (DX products only)
    • DX Flyers (DX products only)
    • DX Other (DX products only)
  • Support
    • Cyber Secuity Updates
  • Training

Open questions:

Should we create folders for these groupings since there are so many files tied to these experiences? It might be good to segment these Japanese only docs from rest of shared language content.
