Breadcrumb

Breadcrumbs are used to orient users as to where they are in the site navigation. Breadcrumbs should be short and concise and preferably one word when possible. Breadcrumbs do not need to match the H1 text or the Page Title text. There is no SEO value to breadcrumbs.

In the Sitemap List component, when the Child pages option is selected, the text from the Breadcrumb field is used to dynamically add the link text to the list.

There are three ways to control breadcrumbs:

  • From the Hero Banner (select "Enable Breadcrumb"; use only for Top Banner option)
  • From the Breadcrumb component (drag and drop onto a page that does not have a Hero Banner, such as a blog post)
  • From the Page Properties (no known valid use cases for this functionality)
